Bama works directly with U.S. fleets fishing from Texas to the Florida Keys up to Virginia, offloading and peeling domestic shrimp at facilities throughout the Gulf of Mexico, including our own facility in St. Pete, FL. Bama also has established relationships and shrimp programs with producers from around the globe, importing millions of pounds from Ecuador, Peru, India and Indonesia. On the finfish side, we are one of the largest importers of Mahi into the US and maintain major national programs made up of other carefully curated species like Salmon, Yellowtail, and more.

Many companies will offer you wild-caught, USA shrimp. What makes ours different? We buy from American-owned vessels, maintain the most stringent quality standards and specifications in the industry, and pack to a Grade A standard that assures that our customers get the best quality, uniformity, yield, and texture possible.

Global Shrimp
Many seafood companies in the US specialize in either farmed
or wild shrimp. Our approach at Bama has been to take our expertise and love of shrimp and apply it to find the best possible shrimp product for our customers needs.
Not all imported shrimp is the same, despite what the “cheap” supplier might tell you. Our specifications, as they are with Wild-Caught Gulf Shrimp, are among the most stringent on the market. We are unique among shrimp importers in that we hand inspect the product from every container that arrives inside of our own domestic facility to assess packaging, organoleptic qualities, and specification compliance.

Our seafood products don’t stop with shrimp. We are among the largest importers of Mahi Mahi into the United States, and maintain a steady supply of other core finfish species as well. Many customers, knowing our keen attention to detail on quality and specification development, frequently request new species for us to curate on their behalf.
Our facility in St. Pete, Florida offers numerous capabilities on the finfish customization side ranging from branded skin packs, value added (breading and battering), bandsawing, blast freezing, and more.
